We’ve officially made it, Netflix rom-com fans. To All the Boys: Always and Forever dropped today, and those who have been following the movie series since it began back in 2018 surely cannot wait to tune in to see how Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky’s (Noah Centineo) love story concludes.

This time around, the movie follows the two central characters as they get ready to graduate high school and move on to the next big chapter in their life: College. Though Lara Jean and Peter are going strong in the beginning of To All the Boys 3, tension arises when they have to decide where they’ll be going to college. Luckily for Peter, he’s gotten a scholarship to go to Stanford. As for LJ, she’s waiting to hear back from the school.

Lara Jean applies to a few other schools, but is initially hellbent on going to Stanford so she can be with Peter. In the end, however, she decides to follow her gut and go to NYU. So what changed?

Well, unfortunately, Lara Jean gets rejected by Stanford. When she eventually breaks the news to Peter, he assures her that she can just transfer after a year. After she’s accepted to Berkeley, she decides that’ll be the best option for her and Peter to stay together, considering the drive to Stanford is about an hour long. However, everything changes once Lara Jean and Peter go to New York City on their school trip.

Lara Jean’s experience in the Big Apple completely catches her off-guard, as after she visits the NYU campus and goes to a college party, it’s evident she falls in love. Automatically, she feels like maybe New York City is the better option for her after high school, and as you’d expect, she later gets accepted to the school.

Fast forward through prom, some tears, and a breakup for Lara Jean and Peter, the movie ends with the couple happily together as they head off to college. While they’re now on opposite ends of the country, they decide to make it work. We’re rooting for them all the way!
