Andrew Mitchell Robert De Niro’s short height and giant platform shoes
American actor Robert De Niro has a height of 5 feet and 9 inches. His height falls short for some of his roles and hence to combat his shortness, he tends to wear platform shoes. Robert De Niro was shot in the Bronx, New York for ‘The Irishman’. On the sets of this film, he was seen wearing giant platform shoes.
His height is just 1 inch more than that of Al Pacino who is his co-star in the film. He has hence been told to wear the special shoes to look taller and towering when he stands with Al Pacino. The shoes were arranged by the Wardrobe Department of the film.
This film is based on Charles Brand’s 2004 book called ‘I heard you paint houses’. The film has a 2018 release. Robert De Niro plays Sheeran, the mob hitman while Pacino portrays the character of Jimmy Hoffa, a labor union Chief who had gone missing and was shorter in height than Sheeran. Hence the need for the giant platform shoes for Robert De Niro!
Robert Niro and his anti-vaccination drive
Niro appeared on the 13 April 2017 episode of the ‘Today’ Show. Robert De Niro has 6 children; 4 sons and 2 daughters. One of his sons, Elliot suffers from autism.
There were some initial beliefs that autism is linked to measles-mumps-rubella vaccination. Assuming these to be true, Robert De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower have not ruled out the possibility of vaccines have caused their son’s autism.
Robert De Niro said:
“There are many people who will come out and say ‘I saw my kid change overnight,’”
He added:
“My wife says that. I don’t remember. But my child is autistic. And every kid is different. If you’re a father, you certainly understand what it’s like to go through the worry about your kids. Sometimes it can be overwhelming. It can be nightmarish and upsetting. There’s nothing much you can do but deal with it.”
Supporting the controversial film Vaxxed, Robert De Niro said:
“I, as a parent with a child who has autism, am concerned. I want to know the truth. And I’m not anti-vaccine, I want safe vaccines.”

There is no link between autism and vaccines, studies have shown
Autism is a developmental disorder when the patient has repetitive behavior and affection of social skills and communication. There was a time when people suspected that vaccination and autism are associated. This was thought since autism was commonly diagnosed when children were in the vaccination age group.
But following it, several studies have been done over two decades and these have certainly and beyond doubt confirmed that there is no association between vaccination and autism.
Autism has developmental, genetic, prenatal, and perinatal causes. It was thought that the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine, thiomersal in the vaccines, and administration of multiple vaccines could lead to this disease. But all studies have proved against it and it can now be reported without any sign of doubt that vaccinations do not cause autism.
