Rihanna and Asap Rocky’s son turns 1

It’s a happy 1st birthday for Rihanna and Asap Rocky‘s son RZA. The couple had a big celebration for their firstborn on May 13.

The pregnant singer, 35, and her rapper partner, 34, shared a series of family photos on the occasion of their baby boy’s big celebration.

Rocky shared a post with a cute picture of his son crawling on a blanket next to Riri as she kissed her man on the cheek.

Next, the rapper shared a photo of the trio posing for the cameras and looking silly in the mirror as the baby boy laughs.

Other adorable snaps showed the Fashion Killa rapper holding his son in his arms as he shaves his face. There was also a video of the proud daddy holding up his son and dancing him around.

His last slide was a video of Wu-Tang Clan founding member Ol’ Dirty Bastard at an award ceremony saying “Wu-Tang Clan is for the children.”

The emotional dad wrote in the captions,

“WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN 🤲” HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN . RZA❤️.”

The baby’s moniker became public just earlier this week through his birth certificate.

His name is a tribute to the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, producer and rapper RZA whose actual name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs.

The Rude Boy singer and her beau revealed their son’s name almost a year after his birth and just a few months after Riri announced her second pregnancy at the  Superbowl halftime show.

A source said at the time,

“She loves being a mom so this is where her mind is at the moment,”

“She is the happiest she has ever been.”

Rihanna talks about motherhood

The Grammy winner also addressed new motherhood in the March issue of British Vogue where she said,

“It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever,” 

“You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because…. Because it doesn’t matter.”

In April, the Umbrella hitmaker shared a video of her son interrupting her exercise routine. She captioned the adorable clip on Twitter,

“Look who don’t want mommy to workout,” 

Last year, the Fenty Beauty owner also talked about how protective she is as a mother. She compared her parenting style to Real Housewives’ Teresa Guidice. Ri said,

“Teresa from Jersey does not play about her kids. She will flatten you about those kids. And that resonates with me a lot because I feel like that’s the type of mom I’m going to be,”

 “Psycho about it.”
