Revealed: Trey Lyles’ ‘brutal’ father, his soaring career and his bubbly girlfriend!

Trey Lyle the sports celebrity was just seven when he shifted from Saskatoon, Canada to Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
His musician father Thomas Lyles was also good at sports.

Trey Lyles’ ‘brutal’ father

Though hockey was the main game played at Saskatoon, Lyles’ father taught him to play basketball as well from a young age. When they shifted to Indiana, the father-son duo used to practice basketball at the local park and later the nearby court.

They would get up early at 5 am and practice three times a day for three to four times a week. They would even rehearse at odd hours. At night-time, they would use the car’s headlights to illuminate the court and then play.

His father was not only his coach but his personal trainer as well. He had charted out an extremely rigid and hard regime for his son.

Brutal Workouts

Reminiscing the past days, Thomas Lyles says:

“His workouts were brutal, they were brutal. And I say that because I wanted him to understand that no matter what you do in life, whether as a ballplayer or a truck driver or whatever, you have to be the best you can be. In order to be the best, you have to have a work ethic.”

But it was worth noting that Trey Lyles too enjoyed these workouts however hard they were. His father adds:

“But the more I pushed, the more he wanted. The more he wanted, the more I gave him.”

The father proudly says that he was never able to find the breaking point of his son.

The rising star

It goes without saying that the 14 years of hard work of father and son paid off. Trey Lyles played for his high school. He won the 2014 IndyStar Mr. Basketball award.

He registered with the University of Kentucky and was selected for its basketball team. He scored well and was one of the top recruits for the NBA. In 2015, Trey Lyles was chosen by the Utah Jazz in round 1 with the 12^th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft.

He and his teammates did a superb performance and gave their team many wins. Similarly, Trey Lyles also played for Canada’s under-19 team and gave it international recognition.

Trey Lyles’s basketball-playing statistics are excellent and he is a star in the making. He plays in a power forward position and is good at defending and preventing the march of the opponents.

Trey Lyles’ bubbly girlfriend

Trey Lyles is dating Olivia Jester who is from Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been in a relationship with her since 2014. She is extremely active on social media platforms and is considered a ‘Twitter machine’.

She has a bubbly personality and plays soccer for Kentucky. She was a star at McAuley High School. When queried about her dream job, Olivia Jester said it would be that of a ‘dolphin trainer’.

She was present at the NBA draft 2015 and was said to have stolen the show. Trey Lyles and Olivia Jester make a picture-perfect couple and share very loving and intimate chemistry.
