CB and I get sent a lot of promotional stuff from magazine – links for articles, hi-res images from photo shoots, that kind of thing. The Details Magazine rep just sent us something about Zachary Quinto’s profile in the new issue – you can read it here. I guess Quinto is big news because he just came out, which is fine. But even in a world where Zacharay Quinto is big news, how can Details neglect to mention that DAVID GANDY is their new cover boy?

Now, I’ll admit, I’ve been “over” Gandy for a few months, ever since I learned that he was dating that blonde famewhore chick who began giving interviews about him two seconds after she got slipped the Gandy Dong. I don’t know if they’re still together – I hope not, and I haven’t heard anything from her in a while, so perhaps they’re over. She’s still being identified as his girlfriend, though. Sucky. Anyway, here are some interview excerpts (from Attitude Magazine).

David Gandy will never be happy with his body. The hunky model is regarded as one of the world’s sexiest men but says he’s always been critical of the way he looks and doesn’t have much self-confidence.

He said: “I don’t particularly like much of my body. I’m very critical of myself. I think I’m pretty much a perfectionist in anything I do so I’m never going to be happy. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, believe me. People can criticize me and try to being me down but I tell them, ‘You can’t be as hard on me as I am on myself, so don’t even try.’ ”

Despite making his name after appearing in a Dolce and Gabbana advert for their fragrance Light Blue, David says he’s pleased he’s now being accepted for more than just his looks.

David – who is currently dating The Saturdays star Mollie King – told attitude magazine: “I’m not just a model now. We have gone beyond that. There are better-looking guys than me, there are more intelligent guys than me, but they seem to have accepted the level that they got to and then said, ‘That’s it.’ And I’ve always queried that and asked why? Why can’t you go beyond that? And, well, here we are now. We’re doing it.”

If David Gandy is never going to be happy with the way he looks, what hope is there for the rest of us? Maybe I should look on the bright side, though. If he has low-self-esteem, maybe that means I have a chance with him? Because I’m so imperfect and he’ll think that I’m the best he can do? The thing is… I like cocky men. I like dudes who are full of themselves. I don’t like all of this hand-wringing over beauty from a man. It’s a turn off. Sure, I’d still hit it. Of course.
