Alex Murdaugh’s political donations have been documented in federal and state records.

In April 2020, he contributed $2,700 to Biden For President, and in June 2015, he donated the same amount to Hillary For America, according to records from the Federal Election Commission.

On June 7, 2021, Alex reported to the Police that he found his wife and son dead with multiple gunshot wounds near the dog kennels. This incident happened at their hunting lodge in Islandton, South Carolina.

He claimed to have been with his mother, who has dementia, at the time of the incident. In July 2022, he got arrested on two murder charges and possessing a weapon. 

Alex’s trial for the murder of his wife and son began in January 2023, and he was found guilty on March 2, 2023. At 9:30 am local time on March 3, 2023, Murdaugh is set to receive his sentencing.
